About

Email: divya@thetherapyspace.co

Sometimes in life, we may encounter different challenges and situations that can dull our sparkle. While this is absolutely normal, the ways in which we manage and cope with these experiences may have profound effects on our mental health and overall well-being. Whether these effects are big or small, I commend you for taking this first step to begin your journey in restoring your shine! As your personal guide and cheerleader, I am honoured to be walking alongside you as we navigate this new path together to your destination.

Throughout our journey, I will ensure that you feel safe, supported, and heard. Working from a person-centered and culturally humble approach, developing a strong therapeutic relationship through empathy, compassion, and authenticity is something which I highly value. Ours is a judgement-free space built on a strong foundation of respect and trust. Together, we can discuss any concerns you may have including stress, anxiety, depression, past or current trauma and much more. With me, no topic of discussion is off limits!

To meet your individual needs and goals, I employ an integrative approach where I utilize techniques and interventions from multiple modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Experiential Therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy. I am also proficient in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) principles having worked with individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities for seven years. My lived and shared experiences also allow me to recognize the challenges faced by immigrants and the BIPOC community. I understand that the pressures of the world can be a lot to handle at times, but my hope is to empower and support you towards growth, build effective coping strategies, and remind you of the gem that you truly are. So, I invite you to take my hand as we embark on this journey together to get you shining bright again.

If you think we would be a good fit, please contact me at divya@thetherapyspace.co to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation! I look forward to meeting you.

Q&A with

Divya Gossai

What is it like working with you?

My approach to therapy is one of empathy, compassion, authenticity, and nonjudgment. I provide a safe and supportive space for clients to find their voice and feel heard and validated. And of course, lots of laughs!

What do you like most about being a therapist?

Getting to know my clients at such a personal and real level is something I truly value as a therapist. Building an authentic and genuine relationship lays the foundation to guide my clients through their journey of change and help empower them to face any challenge that may come their way. Providing a positive and uplifting space where I can listen and laugh with my clients has been one of my favourite aspects of being a therapist.

What are some ways you take care of your mental health?

Listening to my body and taking time to rest is something I’ve become highly aware of. I also love to dance, listen to music, sing, do arts and crafts, going to the gym, make makeup videos, and watch horror movies!
