Life can be difficult and quite overwhelming at times. You may be feeling “stuck” in a particular situation, experienced a traumatic event, lacking motivation or confidence, suffering from depression and/or anxiety, or feeling disconnected from others. If any of these situations sound familiar to you, know that you are not alone.

As your therapist, my role is to be your greatest ally. I offer a safe, empathic, compassionate, collaborative, and non-judgmental space to clients who are determined to work through and overcome life’s many barriers and challenges. We will embark on a journey of self-discovery and self-healing to empower you to navigate through life with resilience. My passion is to help individuals understand and address their personal challenges, such as stress, interpersonal relationship, anxiety, trauma, grief, and depression issues.

My approach is client-centred, and I utilize a combination of techniques from different modalities to best meet the unique needs of the individual client. The therapeutic approaches I prefer are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). Q&A with

Ibrahim Atasever

What is it like working with you?

While working with me, you can expect unconditional support, positivity, respect, empathy, an open and safe therapeutic environment, and a therapeutic approach tailored specifically to your needs. I prioritize open communication, active listening, and collaboration. My goal is to ensure that my client feels heard, understood, valued, and supported throughout the session by offering a space for them to express themselves freely and work towards their therapeutic goals. I strive to develop a genuine and trustworthy connection with my clients regardless of their race, sex, religion, culture, or values.

What do you like most about being a therapist?

Being a therapist allows me to help others and make a positive impact on society. I believe that true healing takes place once a healthy therapeutic bond is established, which may take a considerable amount of time. I find that spending that time to connect with a client is a valuable, satisfying, and soul-enriching experience that can greatly benefit both client and therapist. What I like most about being a therapist is witnessing my client achieve their therapeutic goals and improving their lives – that feeling of satisfaction is unmatched!

What are some ways you take care of your mental health?

I take care of my mental health by socializing with family and friends, exercising, going on walks daily, listening to podcasts, journaling, playing guitar, staying hydrated, and maintaining a healthy diet. When confronted with a stressor, some ways I respond is by engaging in deep breathing, intrapersonal communication, grounding exercises, and focusing on the positive rather than the negative.
